Cattle Tick Decision

15 August 2000

Member for Lismore, Thomas George, today announced that he has organised an urgent public meeting to discuss the current position and the future of tick control by NSW Agriculture and producers to be held on Thursday 24 August at the RSM Club, Casino, commencing 7.30pm.

"The reason for the meeting is because there are many conflicting reports and ideas on what is happening and what should be happening with tick control. I believe it is important to have the livestock industry informed of the current position. This will enable a responsible decision to be made in relation to the control of ticks in the future and by whom," Mr George stated.

"The meeting is open to any interested persons with invitations being forwarded to the Minister for Agriculture and the Executive of NSW Agriculture," Mr George concluded.
