CELEBRATING OUR SENIORS

National Party Member for Lismore, Thomas George was pleased that an amount of $2,450 in funding had been allocated to 10 seniors groups in the Lismore electorate to assist in local activities planned for the Seniors Citizens Week 2002.

"The grants provided through the Ageing and Disability Department assist organisations diversify and organise events that are of interest and informative to members, from writing competitions, concerts, bus trips, card tournaments to an old fashioned bush dance.

Activities have been planned for Lismore, Casino, Kyogle, Nimbin and Goonellabah with a large range to choose from. The allocations were made to:

"Imagine, Interact and Inspire is the theme for 2002 Seniors Week and I am sure many people will gather together and enjoy this opportunity to celebrate," said Thomas George.
