Baseball, Gymnastics, Netball and Touch All Set to Benefit from Coaches & Officials Funding

Four local sporting organisations were successful in applications under the 2004 NSW Country Coaches and officials Travel Scheme announced Thomas George, National Party Member for Lismore.

"At the same time of announcing funding for 14 talented athletes, this foundation assistance to local Coaches and Officials is paramount in developing local talented sportspeople. Many coaches and officials are often voluntary and assist for the love of sport and to put back in what they have gotten out of their chosen sport," commented Thomas George.

Baseball, Gymnastics, Netball and Touch local Associations will benefit from the allocations to enable local coaches and officials to participate in education courses that assist them gain or maintain required accreditation.

"Volunteer coaches and officials should to be supported and congratulated on their selfless work with children and teenagers who are developing skills and learning to participate in recreational activities thanks to them," stated Thomas George.

"Funding totalling $2,820 will be utilised for the benefit of local sportspeople through this scheme," concluded Thomas George.
