LISMORE ELECTORATE WOMAN OF THE YEAR ANNOUNCED

The Nationals Member for Lismore, Thomas George today held an appreciation morning tea for all nominees, nominators and friends to join to recognise and congratulate those who have contributed immensely for the betterment of our community as a whole.

The event was held this morning at Red Cross and recognised the following nominees;

Winner of Lismore Electorate Woman of the Year was, Ms Jenny Ryan, a Red Cross Volunteer, Co-ordinator, Cosmetic Care Co-ordinator, Zone representative, State Junior Red Cross Co-ordinator as well as a Branch Member.

An invitation has been extended to Jenny by Premier Carr to attend a Premier's Reception on International Women's Day Tuesday 8 March 2005, being held at Government House, to be present alongside other winners from across NSW, where the NSW Woman of the Year will be announced.

"Each nominee makes an integral contribution to the local community through their organisations, their commitment and achievements which encourages and inspires others to do the same.

"This gathering was my personal way of recognising the accomplishment and leadership of these women in the Lismore Electorate. Their contribution is a vital means of building the confidence and pride of all women, and encourages others by presenting significant role models" said Thomas George.
