Thomas George, Member for Lismore says the Liberal/Nationals Government will provide a better start for NSW children by investing more than $362 million over four years to boost affordability and access to preschools.
“Whilst I am unable to attend Friday’s rally at Clunes, I have attended several previous meetings and rallies and will be attending the preschools forum later in March. I am a strong supporter of our community preschools.
“Furthermore, I have been able to obtain some additional funds for local preschools through personal representations to the Minister.
“Everyone agrees on the benefits of preschool for children, yet after a decade of Labor neglect NSW has the lowest preschool participation rates in Australia yet the highest fees in the country,” Mr George said.
“Our initiatives will reduce fees for parents, increase participation for children and improve the quality of NSW preschools.
“The Coalition’s position is simple: our policy aims to support parents so they can support their children. We are investing in our children - and I know in the long term, that investment will pay handsome returns”.
“Our policy will create affordable access to preschools. A better start means a better child and that means a better community.”
