SPORTING GROUPS ENCOURAGED TO APPLY FOR CAPITAL ASSISTANCE PROGRAM FUNDS
Sporting groups encouraged to apply for Capital Assistance Program Funds

Thomas George, National Party Member for Lismore is calling for local sporting organisations to apply for funding under the NSW Department of Sport & Recreation’s 2007/08 Capital Assistance Program.
Mr George said many local sporting organizations have benefited from successful applications. This year round of funding has recently opened and will close on 20 July 2007.
“This program is one of the most important avenues of assistance for local sporting organisations. It has assisted with the enhancement and future development of community sporting and recreational facilities in this area.
Successful organisations have gained funding for the following projects;
- replacement of perimeter fencing,
- upgrading multi sports courts,
- resurfacing tennis court with synthetic grass,
- installation of court airflow system,
- installing lighting,
- extensions to clubhouses,
- resurfacing courts,
- construction of skate park.
