LAW AND ORDER FORUM TO BE HELD IN MURWILLUMBAH

LAW AND ORDER FORUM TO BE HELD IN MURWILLUMBAH

18th January 2008

Following a recent spate of law and order issues and continual complaints from the community, State Member, Thomas George MP will host a Community Law and Order Forum in Murwillumbah.

“It has become apparent in the last few months that members of the Murwillumbah community are fed up with the level of anti-social behaviour, vandalism and petty crime in the town,” Mr George said.

“As a result, I am extending an open invitation to individuals, business owners and local organisations to come together and discuss options for solving the problem.”

Mr George said Tweed/Byron Local Area Commander, Superintendent Michael Kenny had been invited to attend to discuss police responses to the problem.

“I invite any member of the Murwillumbah community concerned about these issues to come and have their voice heard at the Forum.”

The meeting will be held on Tuesday 5 February at 8.30am at the Murwillumbah RSL Club following the regular Murwillumbah Chamber of Commerce breakfast meeting.
