North Coast MPs welcome Shadow Police Minister

13 February 2008

The Nationals North Coast MPs Geoff Provest (Tweed), Don Page (Ballina), Steve Cansdell (Clarence) and Thomas George (Lismore) are set to welcome NSW Shadow Police Minister, Mike Gallacher MLC, on a fact-finding tour of the North Coast.

The MPs said they were keen for the State’s alternative Police Minister to gain a very good understanding of law and order challenges on the North Coast. This would be achieved by meeting key community leaders in relaxed settings for informal discussions.

Mr Gallacher is a Liberal Party Member of the Legislative Council and a former Senior Constable in the NSW Police Force. He is also the Shadow Minister for Industrial Relations.

On Saturday 16 February, Mr Gallacher will be hosted by Tweed Nationals MP Geoff Provest. Mr Gallacher will then be the special guest speaker at the AGM of the Tweed Nationals (11.30AM, Solo Resources, Chinderah Bay Drive, Chinderah).

On Sunday 17 February Mr Gallacher will be in the Ballina Electorate talking to local residents.
