RELEASE OVERDUE MURWILLUMBAH HOSPITAL REPORT, GEORGE DEMANDS
Release overdue Murwillumbah Hospital report, George demands “…about time it got support form Mr Iemma and Mr Crawford... “
11 March 2008
Lismore Nationals MP Thomas George is demanding North Coast Area Health Service, CEO Chris Crawford immediately release a promised report into Murwillumbah Hospital services.
The report was commissioned following a meeting Mr George brokered in Sydney between the Murwillumbah Hospital Support Committee and Labor Health Minister Reba Meagher.
Former Murwillumbah Hospital manager and current Support Committee member Des Ireland told the Murwillumbah Business Chamber last week the Report which was due for release last month would not see the light of day “unless we make a lot of noise”.
“Well I am making a lot of noise,” Mr George said.
“Murwillumbah residents are appalled at the State Labor Government and its senior health bureaucrats’ constant attacks on their District Hospital.”
“This is a wonderful facility with dedicated medical professionals. It has the full backing of the community I represent, and it is about time it got the same support form Morris Iemma and Mr Crawford.
