The Nationals Member for Lismore Thomas George has today called for residents across the electorate to make submissions to the Water Management Inquiry.

Mr George said the Legislative Assembly’s Standing Committee on Natural Resource Management (Climate Change) Committee, of which I am a member, would accept submissions until 19 February 2010.

“The Committee has resolved to inquire about the issues of sustainable water management with particular reference to climate change impacts,” Mr George said.

“The Committee is particularly interested in how climate change will impact the availability of water resources under different climatic scenarios.

“Other terms of interest include the approaches to the management of water resources by all water users including provision for environmental flows and the best practice in conservation management.

“Those who have a knowledge or interest in water management are encouraged to submit their response to the issue, using the terms of reference as a guide.”

Mr George said residents could phone his office on 6621 3624 for more information, or email the Committee on

“Written submissions can be lodged by post to the Standing Committee on Natural Resource Management (Climate Change), Parliament House, Macquarie Street, Sydney NSW 2000 or faxed to 9230 3309.
