DEADLINE EXTENDED FOR 2010 COMMUNITY BUILDING PARTNERSHIPS

19 July 2010

Local community groups and councils looking to build or upgrade facilities now have a further two weeks to apply for funding under the 2010 Community Building Partnership program, Nationals Member for Lismore Thomas George said today.

Due to high demand, a two-week extension has been granted for the statewide program, which provides every electoral district funding of up to $400,000 to build and improve on community facilities.

The new closing date for applications is now Friday, 6 August, 2010.

Mr George said this program provides practical financial help to local communities and families.

“Whether it be enhancing a local park or upgrading sporting facilities, this funding offers a great opportunity to make a difference,” Mr George said.

“I strongly encourage organizations to register online as soon as possible and complete their application by Friday 6, August, 2010.”

Applications can only be made online and organizations are encouraged to visit www.communitybuildingpartnership.nsw.gov.au to check their eligibility and register.

Information about the program is also available from Thomas George’s office, 55 Carrington Street, Lismore, NSW, 2480.
