JUDO TRIO TO RECEIVE STATE AWARD

26 July 2010

Nationals Member for Lismore Thomas George will present three young sporting locals with a State Representative Award next week.

Levi and Jaydha Wilmoth, both of Numulgi, and Daniel Parry, of Boorabee, will receive their Awards at the Lismore Police Boys Club on Tuesday at 5pm in recognition of their representing New South Wales at the 2010 Australian National Judo Championships.

“It is a great achievement for these boys to have represented NSW in Judo and it will be my pleasure to present their Awards,” said Mr George.

The State Government established the Awards in 1989 to recognise people who reach State Representative Level in any field.

Candidates of any age who have succeeded in a competitive field such as dance, music, the arts or academically, and are now representing the State of NSW nationally or internationally, may apply for the award.

The Award will be an official certificate bearing the State Coat of Arms and the Premier’s signature.

Applications for the Awards are only available from Thomas George’s office, 55 Carrington Street, Lismore.
