Today the community should take the opportunity to thank our hardworking paramedic's and ambulance officers as part of 'thank a paramedic day', Nationals Member for Lismore Thomas George said.

"Ambulance officers are out there on the frontline of our health system 24 hours a day, seven days a week and they deserve the community's thanks and praise," Mr George said.

"Paramedics and ambulance officers provide the peace of mind that if ever things go wrong, someone will be there in an emergency.

"Ambulance Officers are part of the medical workforce, a dedicated and highly skilled part of our health system.

"I want to personally thank the ambulance officers and paramedics that I've had contact with over the 12 or so years I've been Member for Lismore.

"I cannot speak highly enough of all the professional and dedicated officers who have a real passion for the invaluable work they do each and every day.

"Paramedics and ambulance officers are often faced with traumatic scenes and experience the kind of disasters on a daily basis that most people might only see once, or not at all, during their lifetime.

"Paramedics and ambulance officers deserve all the support we can offer them.

"The NSW Liberals & Nationals would like to thank all paramedics and ambulances officers for all the hard work they do.

"If you've ever been involved in an emergency, or know someone who has, today gives us an opportunity to thank those hardworking paramedics involved."
