NSW LABOR’S LEGACY – LAST ON ECONOMIC GROWTH HOWEVER WE HAVE PLANS TO FIX IT

A new report released by CommSec recently shows while NSW remains the worst economic performer compared to decade averages, the O’Farrell Government’s economic agenda is well targeted to get the State back on track.

The figures reflect the poor economic record in NSW, however our plans are already being rolled out to foster growth, which is critically needed.

For too long NSW has lagged the rest of the country – it is about time we got back to leading the nation again.

The latest CommSec State of the States report found construction in NSW is weak over both the home building and commercial sectors. However, business is looking to invest.

We are releasing new housing lots and repealing Labor’s homebuyers tax to provide the boost the housing sector needs.

Infrastructure NSW together with the 20 year infrastructure plan will provide confidence and surety to the commercial sector, as it is clear pursuing projects for political reasons has done the State long-term damage.

Business is keen to invest and we will help facilitate that growth through payroll tax rebates in our Jobs Action Plan.

There’s no doubt State Labor’s incompetence over the last 10 years has led to poor performance on economic growth.

However, we are determined to turn around the fortunes of the State and our economic agenda is well placed to start to achieve that.
