GEORGE DELIVERS MORE FUNDING FOR THE PEOPLE OF MURWILLUMBAH
Nationals Member for Lismore Thomas George announced today Murwillumbah Netball Association will receive $50,000 in NSW Government funding to help with a clubhouse extension and court resurfacing.
The funding will provide an extension to existing clubhouse, incorporating installation of solar power, upgrade to canteen facility to improve food safety, provision of equipment storage area, additional toilet/shower, and record keeping/training area. It will also upgrade two court surfaces to improve safety and allow night competition to be played under existing lighting
Mr George said the funding will be greatly appreciated by the Murwillumbah sports community.
“This is great news for our local area and a welcome boost for netball players,” Mr George said.
“Access to modern and functional facilities increases the opportunity easier for people to get involved in sport and recreation, and the funding announcement by Minister.”
Mr George said the Sport and Recreation Facility Grant Program benefits thousands of people across metropolitan, regional and rural NSW.
“From netball courts to skate parks, cricket pitches and swimming pools, this funding will build new and upgrade existing sports infrastructure across the State,” Mr George said.
“I’m very confident the money will be well spent and the newly upgraded facilities will encourage more people to take up healthy sporting endeavours".
