DRAFT NATIVE VEGETATION REGULATION INFORMATION SESSION IN CASINO
Thomas George Nationals Member for Lismore today encouraged interested locals to attend information sessions on proposed changes to the Native Vegetation Regulation.
The NSW Government is reviewing the Native Vegetation Regulation and a draft Regulation, which proposes to cut red tape and allow farmers to get on with their business, is currently on public exhibition.
A draft Environmental Outcomes Assessment Methodology, draft Private Native Forestry Code of Practice and Regulatory Impact Statement have also been released.
Mr George said a series of free public information sessions about the draft regulation and associated documents are being held across NSW in coming weeks.
A session will be held in Casino on Thursday 5 July 2012 at the Community Cultural Centre from 10am-12.30pm.
“The management of native vegetation is of great interest to many people and these information sessions will give details of the proposed changes to the regulation and outline how to make a submission,” Mr George said.
The new regulation proposes a more streamlined approach to native vegetation management based on greater trust, flexibility and transparency.
Specific Private Native Forestry sessions are also being held to explain the proposed changes to the Private Native Forestry Code of Practice and related parts of the Regulation. This will be held on the same day from 1.30-3.30pm.
Anyone with an interest in native vegetation is encouraged to come along to the information session. There is no need to register for the sessions.
