Nationals Member for Lismore Thomas George has announced local sporting grant recipients as part of the NSW Government’s Participation and Facility Grant Program.

Local organisations to receive assistance are –

Tweed Riding for the Disabled Association (NSW) $2000 Woodenbong Tennis Club $9892

“This program provides funding for local initiatives that encourage people to be more active on a regular basis,” Mr George said.

“Participation in sport and recreation together with good facilities brings people closer together, as well as offering many health benefits.

“By assisting to fund the development of local sport facilities, the NSW Government is investing in the health and wellbeing of our local communities,” Mr George added.

Applications for the next round of Participation and Facilities Program grants will open on 21 January 2013 and close 26 February 2013.
