LOCAL ORGANISATION AWARDED NSW DISABILITY ARTS GRANT
Nationals Member for Lismore Thomas George today congratulated RED Inc on receiving $37,400 through The Arts & Disability Project Funding.
“The NSW Government has approved more than $520,000 in funding to support projects for people living with a disability,” Mr George said.
"The Arts & Disability Project Funding provides grants to support a diverse range of projects across visual & performing arts, which together provide greater access & involvement to people with a disability," Mr George said.
"Arts & Disability Project Funding will go to support varied programs ranging from dance, theatre, writing & visual arts projects that aim to encourage creative participation by people with a disability.
"Projects such as these can make a real difference by engaging people with a disability, building self-esteem, pride and potentially providing career paths,” Mr George said.
RED Inc is joining with Sprung!! Integrated Dance Theatre to develop a triple bill of theatre, contemporary dance and hip-hop. The works will be developed by up to 25 young people with a disability and will be performed at a regional festival.
