
GEORGE ANNOUNCES LISMORE ELECTORATE WOMAN OF THE YEAR
Nationals Member for Lismore today announced Luz Press as the Local Women of the Year for the electorate of Lismore as part of the 2013 NSW Women of the Year Awards.
Mr George said the NSW Women of the Year Awards showcase inspirational stories of commitment, sacrifice and extraordinary achievement.
“These awards are important as there so are many wonderful women making an outstanding contribution to the NSW community. These include the local heroes and volunteers who deserve to be recognised.
“Women such as Luz are fantastic role models within the community.”
Mr George said Ms Press has been nominated for her following contributions –
- Human Book at the Lismore City Library 2007-present
- Red Cross Telecross volunteer 2004-present
- Fusion Festival volunteer 2010-12
- Secretary International Rainbow Club
- Organised Lismore Harmony Day 2011-12
- Nominee in Lismore Council Australia Day Awards (Community Service) 2010, 2011 & 2013.
- Nominee in NSW Premier's Filipino Community Awards (Arts & Culture)
