NSW GOVERNMENT CONTINUES TO INVEST IN SPORTING FACILITIES AND PARTICIPATION PROGRAMS

Minister for Sport and Recreation, Graham Annesley, today visited Lismore to announce funding for an upgrade of Blair Oval.

Lismore City Council will receive $25,000 to upgrade of lighting, drainage and enlargement of the playing field.

“It’s critically important quality sporting and recreational facilities are accessible and complemented with well-run programs if we are to encourage people to lead a more healthy and active lifestyle.

“The funding comes from Round Two of the NSW Government’s Participation and Facility Grant Program,” Mr Annesley said.

“The Government is passionate about ensuring opportunities are provided for as many people as possible to obtain the benefits derived from living an active, healthy lifestyle.

“Being physically active is not only excellent for health and well-being, but also delivers substantial social benefits and brings communities together,” Mr George said.
