LISMORE BASE HOSPITAL SPECIALIST OUTPATIENT CLINICS OPEN
Lismore Base Hospital has been in the process of moving nine of its Specialist Outpatient Clinics to Level 2 of Crawford House in order to provide ease of access for patients and Clinicians.
Thomas George, Member for Lismore said, “This move is intended to streamline and improve patient flow for people attending the Specialist Outpatient Clinics.”
“Importantly, it means the Doctors and Clinicians will not have to go from one area of the hospital to another to provide these services,” Mr George said.
Previously, Lismore Base Hospital Clinics were scattered around the hospital. Some were located on the lower ground floor of the hospital while others were on another floor and another was across the road from the hospital.
There are nine Clinic Rooms that are open Monday to Friday. The Orthopaedic Specialists, Doctors Richard Hudson and Luke Henscheke and Respiratory Physician Doctor Bliegh Mupunga have commenced working in the Clinics.
In the near future we are expecting the Gynaecology Clinics to commence with Doctors Amelia Hare and Roald Fullerton providing care.
There will be a full-time Practice Manager to oversee the operation of the Clinics and a full time Practice Nurse on site who will be available for all of the Specialties.
Future Clinics planned are Lung Function Testing, Staff Health Clinic and Hand Clinic.
The drop off point to access the Clinics is Uralba Street opposite the University Centre for Rural Health, where the former Cancer Care and Haematology Unit was located. This location provides better wheelchair access and direct entry to level 2 of Crawford House.
