SENIORS CHRISTMAS CONCERTS COMING TO LISMORE
Minister for Ageing John Ajaka and Member for Lismore Thomas George today announced the NSW Government’s popular Seniors Christmas Concerts would be coming to Lismore later this year.
“Today’s announcement coincides with International Day for Older Persons and sees more seniors in regional NSW gaining access to the free Christmas concerts,” Mr Ajaka said.
“Last year the regional Christmas concerts allowed seniors who live outside Sydney the opportunity to enjoy the great entertainment close to home.
“The Seniors Christmas Concerts are held at no cost to the audience, and are provided as a gift for the hard-working and well-deserving seniors of New South Wales.
“The Christmas concert being held in Lismore this year will be easily accessible to seniors from Lismore and surrounding areas.
“This is our opportunity to thank our seniors for the great contribution they have made and continue to make in our community.”
Mr George said he was thrilled to announce the Christmas concert was coming to Lismore which will be held at the Churchill Auditorium on Wednesday 19 November 2014.
“It can be hard for seniors who live in the Lismore area to get to Sydney for the big Premier’s Seniors Week concerts, so this is great news that the Christmas concert is coming to us,” Mr George said.
“The government will also continue to produce a Christmas Concerts DVD, to send out to seniors, nursing home residents and those less mobile who cannot attend the concerts to also enjoy the performances.”
Tickets will be available later this month. Further information at www.nswseniorsweek.com.au
