Nationals Member for Lismore Thomas George MP has announced $73,588 in funding to upgrade popular local football facility, Crozier Oval, as part of the NSW Footy Facilities Fund. The Fund is an initiative of the NSW Government and the NRL, and is part of almost $500,000 in funding across the state.

“The NSW Footy Facilities Fund will increase regular and on-going participation opportunities in Rugby League and improve the standard of footy grounds and facilities,” Mr George said.

“Here in Lismore, we have received a significant funding grant which will enhance the experience of both players and spectators involved in local football matches. This is great for fitness and participation.”

“Footy is also a fantastic way to bring our community together.”

NRL Head of Football Todd Greenberg said rugby league participation continues to grow nationally and we want to ensure our players and spectators enjoy modern, safe and high quality facilities.

“The dedicated NSW Footy Facilities Fund will help promote greater inclusion in Rugby League and encourage more environmentally sustainable facilities,” Mr Greenberg said.

“Funding is available to assist Rugby League clubs at all levels to improve the quality, availability and standard of facilities. This may include spending on items such as new seating, goal posts, canteens, lights, fields, fencing or dressing rooms.

“Rugby League prides itself on being part of a strong and health community. That’s why we are proud to work with the NSW Government, local councils, rugby league clubs and the community to deliver the grass roots infrastructure needed to support and grow the game,” Mr Greenberg said.
