Communities in the Lismore electorate are set to be even more prepared for bush fires as a portion of the 2014-15 NSW State Budget is allocated for station upgrades and new fire trucks.

Nationals Member for Lismore Thomas George said the amount received formed part of the 2014-15 NSW State Government Budget which increased by $1.8 million, bringing the total NSW RFS allocation to $285 million.

“We welcome these additional funds which will help us continue to provide the highest standard of protection to communities throughout the.

“The NSW RFS is committed to ensuring our members have the equipment, resources and support they need to continue their important work.

“New facilities will allow our volunteers to continue to be supported with the latest technology and equipment whilst they assist their local community in times of need.

“Older style models will be replaced and will allow firefighters to continue providing a high level of emergency service to residents in the electorate,” Mr George said.
