“It’s wonderful to be back at Murwillumbah Hospital to see this upgrade complete for the benefit of staff and local patients.

“Murwillumbah Hospital’s emergency department is now 60 per cent larger as a result of this redevelopment and the upgrade has enabled the creation of a new resuscitation area and three acute observation bays.

“The NSW Liberals & Nationals are committed to ensuring our rural and regional hospitals are able to deliver their first-class care in first-class facilities. I’m pleased to see this happening at Murwillumbah.”

“I thank the Minister for injecting the additional $450,000 into this redevelopment to ensure its completion. I have no doubt it will have great benefits for local patients.

“The official opening of the new emergency department complements a number of health projects in Northern NSW including the $80.25 million upgrade to Lismore Hospital, a new ambulance station at Murwillumbah, the announcement of a new Multi-Purpose Service for Bonalbo and enhancements of local aeromedical services.”
