$200,000 ENVIRONMENTAL FUNDING
Nationals Member for Lismore, Thomas George MP, has praised two local projects for receiving $100,000 each towards local conservation.
A partnership between the Nature Conservation Trust (NCT) and landholders will see professional bush regenerators restore and enhance threatened species habitat and lowland rainforest endangered ecological communities on three properties protected by NCT Trust Agreements and adjoining NPWS estate in Mt Jerusalem National Park.
EnviTE has received assistance for its community based emu conservation project in the Bungawalbin catchment.
“Both these projects have significant environmental values that will see important species protected and enhanced,” Mr George said.
The aim of the Restoration and Rehabilitation program is to facilitate projects run by community organisations and government entities working to prevent or reduce environmental degradation of any kind.
Through these projects, we also aim to improve the capacity of communities and organisations to protect, restore and enhance the environment. In the 2014 the Environmental Trust awarded 23 projects totalling $2,015,787 for Restoration and Rehabilitation community projects across NSW.
