NSW GOVERNMENT OFFERS $47,850 GRANT TO LISMORE SHOWGROUND TRUST
Member for Lismore Thomas George said the NSW Government has responded positively to a Lismore Showground Trust request for funding towards emergency electrical repairs.
“The Government has offered an emergency grant of $47,850 from the Public Reserves Management Fund Program (PRMFP) for this work,” Mr George said.
“The Trust was advised by its energy supplier that the showground’s power would be disconnected if the repairs weren’t carried out.
“The showground is home to a variety of community events and relies on income from its user groups to generate the funds for ongoing maintenance.
“The NSW Government is pleased to make up the shortfall in the cost of the repairs so popular events like the weekly farmers markets won’t be disrupted.
”The Government has allocated more than $16 million this year through the Public Reserves Management Fund Program (PRMFP) for upgrades to caravan parks, local parks and reserves, state parks and showground across the state.
“The PRMPF is just one example of the Government’s commitment to the cultural, sporting, environmental, economic and recreational life of communities across NSW,” Mr George said.
