NSW GOVERNMENT INJECTS FURTHER FUNDING INTO LOCAL ARTS AND CULTURAL FACILITIES

Member for Lismore Thomas George is encouraging local organisations to apply for grants of between $100,000 and $300,000 to help build or upgrade art and cultural facilities through the ClubGRANTS Category 3 program.

“The NSW Government understands how important art and culture is to local communities and is investing in facilities to boost this vibrant and important sector,” Mr George said.

“With $2.5 million on offer I urge our passionate, creative organisations to apply for this funding opportunity to further enhance our community’s art and cultural offerings.

“On top of funding for art and culture, the ClubGRANTS Category 3 scheme is investing millions in sport and recreation infrastructure and emergency relief facilities annually over the next four years,” Mr George said.

Deputy Premier Troy Grant said NSW is renowned for art and culture and communities across the state will benefit from bigger and better facilities.

“The NSW Government is committed to ensuring people have access to art and culture no matter where they live - this investment will build participation and ensure our facilities are equipped for the long term.”

Expressions of interest for art and culture grants are now open until 18 March 2016. Approved applicants will be invited to lodge formal applications in May 2016 with successful projects announced later this year.
