GEORGE WELCOMES HELICOPTER BASE REVIEW OUTCOME
Nationals Member for Lismore Thomas George has today welcomed the findings of the independent review into the suitability of the new base for the Westpac Rescue Life Saver Helicopter remaining in Lismore.
“I thank NSW Ambulance for seeking this review to investigate operational concerns relating to local weather conditions,” Mr George said.
“I had no doubt the review would reinforce that Lismore Airport is the best location for future helicopter operations to be based.
“During my time as a Director of the Service or over its 30 years of operation I never recall there being any operational issues or limitations due to the weather.
“I wish CEO Kris Beavis, the Board and Helicopter staff all the best as it now proceeds with the building of its new base & the opening soon of the hospital helipad, this will only enhance the world-class services it delivers to the Northern Rivers,” Mr George said.
