Northern Rivers Echo
Last week I had the honour of attending the Parliament of NSW Student Leadership Program and catching up with leaders from schools throughout my electorate - what wonderful representatives for their schools and communities. Schools included The Rivers Secondary College Kadina, Lismore & Richmond River Campuses, Nimbin Central School, Trinity Catholic College, as well as Murwillumbah and west of the range schools.
This week Minister for Primary Industries, Niall Blair MLC visited the electorate to open the completed off stream water supply storage dam constructed as part of the Kyogle Water Supply Augmentation project which is funded under the Water Security for Regions program. The NSW Government, through various programs, has contributed over $7.1m to this $8.2m project.
The Nationals/Liberal Government has announced the State’s $90 Gas Rebate will now include household bottled Liquefied Petroleum Gas (LPG).
The extension of the Gas Rebate will help thousands of families across the state, particularly in regional NSW.
The extension of the rebate to include LPG, means that vulnerable customers who are not connected to the natural gas distribution network and who use LPG as a key fuel source for heating, cooking and powering their hot water systems, will now be eligible for assistance.
Application forms and more information will be available on-line at http://www.resourcesandenergy.nsw.gov.au/rebates or by calling Service NSW on telephone 13 77 88.
