I am excited to announce that the 2016 Seniors Christmas Concerts will be coming to Lismore on Friday 25 November for two shows.
This year's theme is ‘Next Stop….Christmas’ and will be held at the Lismore City Hall at 10.00am and 1.00pm.
The Seniors Christmas Concerts are the NSW Government’s way of saying thank you to older people in our local community who have done so much for us all.
I encourage locals who are over 60 to book their complimentary tickets so they don’t miss out.
Free tickets are also available for Aboriginal people, 50 years or over and people with lifelong disability.
Further information on the Seniors Christmas Concerts in Lismore and how to book can be found at www.nswseniorsweek.com.au
Last week Minister for Early Childhood Education, The Hon Leslie Williams was in the electorate. We visited Bexhill Public School to announce $29,050 towards an Out of School Hours Care service. Discussions were then held with local preschools regarding the NSW Government’s funding for the Start Strong program that will reduce community preschool fees by an average of 30 per cent and provide universal access to quality early childhood education.
Four local organisations will share in $242,701 funding through the NSW Government’s Social Housing Community Improvement Fund - a three-year commitment to build stronger social housing communities. This is all about turning social housing areas into strong, vibrant communities that our residents are proud to call home.
Organisations to undertake local projects are - Lismore Neighbourhood Centre Incorporated, Ngulingah Local Aboriginal Land Council, Nimbin Neighbourhood and Information Centre Incorporated and The North Coast Community Housing Company Ltd
