The countdown is on until the first sod is turned for work on the new $48 million Tabulam Bridge across the Clarence River.

Roads and Maritime Services is working closely with the contractor Delaney Civil Pty Ltd to finalise planning before work can start.

Work on this exciting NSW Government project is expected to start in the coming weeks and will improve freight productivity and traffic efficiency between the Northern Rivers and Northern Tablelands.

Work will take about two years to complete and the community will be kept informed as the project progresses.

The youth rental subsidy Rent Choice Youth will be expanded to the Northern Rivers to help vulnerable youth facing homelessness.

Rent Choice Youth provides a rental assistance subsidy for up to three years to young people between the ages of 16 and 24 who are at risk of homelessness.

Reducing youth homelessness is a key priority for the NSW Government.

Rent Choice Youth is an initiative of the NSW Governmentís Future Directions for Social Housing in NSW which sets out the Governmentís vision for social housing over the next 10 years.
