Lismore Echo

Last week saw the historic Native Title Consent Determination for Western Bundjalung, including areas around Baryulgil, Jubullum, Tabulam and Malabugilmah.

This determination will mean the traditional owners of the land and their on-going practices will be recognised by Australian law under the Native Title Act.

Think F.A.S.T. and act FAST this National Stroke Week (4-10 September) - join the FAST Response Team. You could save a life. Everyone is being encouraged to know and share the signs of stroke.

Time is critical in treating stroke. Paramedics, nurses and doctors can only help if you join the FAST Response Team and dial 000 at the first sign of stroke.

Stroke is always a medical emergency.

Iíve had the pleasure of attending many events during the past week including the reopening of the CWA Tea Rooms in Spinks Park following its flood renovations, Legacy Week services giving thanks for the wonderful work it does for families of incapacitated and deceased Veterans and the Centenary for Our Lady Help of Christians School in South Lismore.
