Murwillumbah’s popular Budd Park boat ramp has been given a new lease on life six months after it was ravaged by floods.

Mr George said $84,850 was provided under the NSW Government’s Boating Now program to improve boaties’ access to the Tweed River.

“The recently completed upgrade involved relocating the pontoon to a more suitable location within the Budd Park precinct to improve access.

“Boaties can now secure their vessels to the pontoon while they enjoy a day in the sun at Budd Park or explore all Murwillumbah has to offer.”

Mr George said the project is a great example of what can be achieved by working with stakeholders such as Tweed Shire Council under Boating Now.

“The Council carried out the work on behalf of Roads and Maritime Services and contributed $15,000 to the overall upgrade,” Mr George said.

“The work will ensure water sport lovers continue to make the most of Budd Park and the Tweed River now and into the future.”
