Lismore Echo

Congratulations to the Lismore Committee for organising a wonderful Lions District Convention on the weekend. Over 350 people converged on Lismore to hear inspirational speakers, discuss Lions projects and have fellowship. I was honoured to open the Convention and also present John Shirley from Kyogle with a Premier’s Community Service Award for his outstanding commitment to Lions in the area.

An urgent reminder that the University Centre for Rural Health After the Flood survey closes on Monday 6 November.

This Community Resilence Project is calling on ALL residents of the Northern Rivers to complete the survey to help support our ongoing recovery & future responses to disasters.

Everyone in this region was affected in some way by the flood so your thoughts count.

Go to www.ucrh.edu.au to fill online or contact my office for a hard copy.

This strategy is central to improving transparency and meaningful engagement with the community on Crown land decisions.

The draft Community Engagement Strategy is on public exhibition until 26 November 2017.

A community information session is being held in Ballina today at the Lighthouse Beach Surf Club.
