FUNDING TO HELP PROTECT LISMORE FROM FLOODING
Rous County Council has received an $80,000 NSW Government grant to help protect Lismore from flood risks, Member for Lismore, Thomas George MP announced today.
The NSW Government’s Floodplain Management grant program provides funding to councils to help manage local flood risks.
“We all know the devastating effect of the March flood.
“The NSW Government is working with councils to best protect our residents and communities for future events,” Mr George said.
This project is to use the current flood model to investigate several options to achieve maximum protection.
This project is one of 51 to share in more than $7 million as part of this round of Floodplain Management grants funding.
This grant program supports councils to undertake priority projects to assess the risks and provide increased levels of flood protection in NSW.
