THOMAS GEORGE CALLS FOR REFURBISHMENT OF TENTERFIELD SHIRE’S HOSPITALS
Member for Lismore Thomas George today called on the Liberal Nationals Government to set aside funds to refurbish and modernise Tenterfield Hospital and Urbenville Multi-Purpose Service (MPS) in the upcoming NSW Budget.
“Under the leadership of Premier Gladys Berejiklian and Deputy Premier John Barilaro the NSW Government has had a strong track record of delivering high quality health services to the seat of Lismore.” Mr George said.
“The Budget which will be delivered on Tuesday 18 June offers the NSW Government an opportunity to improve and extend the life of both of these vital services.”
“Over the past six months I have made representations to Minster for Health Brad Hazzard, calling on him and the Government to support the following health projects in the Tenterfield Shire Council area;
- Refurbish the aging Tenterfield Hospital
- Refurbish the Multi-Purpose Centre and Emergency Department at Urbenville MPS
“The physical environment in which care is provided has a major impact on the experience of patients and their families, and also on the experience of staff working in the healthy system.
“By investing in that environment, we are continuing to build on the health services we provide to our local community,” Mr George said.
