Once again seniors in Lismore will have the opportunity to sing along to their favourite carols at the Seniors Christmas Concert extravaganza this December.

Member for Lismore Thomas George announced the highly anticipated concert, which will feature a range of talent including headline performer Damien Leith.

“Securing the Seniors Christmas Concert is a win for our local seniors who will enjoy the benefits of a full-scale production and fun day out leading up to the Christmas season,” Mr George said.

“The concert will be a free event, offered exclusively to seniors. Tickets are available from October 2 and I encourage all local residents aged 60 years and over to secure their tickets early so they don’t miss out.”

Minister for Ageing, Tanya Davies said the Seniors Christmas Concert tours different locations each year, to ensure as many seniors as possible can attend.

“These concerts are a great way for seniors to share in the spirit of Christmas,” Mrs Davies said.

“It is important, especially at Christmas time, for seniors to make new friends, get together with old ones, remain socially connected and be valued for their lifelong contribution.”

The Lismore concerts will be held at the Lismore City Hall, Churchill Auditorium on Tuesday 18 December, starting at 10.30am and 2pm. Concerts are also being held in Albury and Nowra.

The 2018 Christmas Concerts are an initiative under the NSW Ageing Strategy 2016-2022 and have been held since 2013, replacing the Premier’s Christmas Gala Concert in Sydney.
