Drought Information Meeting

The Rural Financial Counselling Service will be holding the following Drought Information meetings:
Old Bonalbo 10 am Thursday 20 February
Kyogle Golf Club 7.30 pm Thursday 20 February
Casino RSM 10 am Friday 21 February

Community Legal Education

From 3-7 March Legal Aid will conducting community legal education in the area. During this time it will be providing free confidential legal advice. Appointments are essential and can be made by calling 1800 451784. Interviews will be held on Monday 3 March in Casino from 11am-3pm and on Tuesday 4 March in Lismore from 2-4pm.

Shadow Minister visits West of the Range

Don Page, Shadow Minister for Land and Water Conservation, and Forestry and I travelled to Bonalbo recently to speak with and attend a community BBQ. This was a great opportunity for people to personally discuss and highlight any matters directly with Don.

In addition to this visit, I also undertook my regular tour West of the Range so that my travelling to these areas assist residents in being to access me to raise issues and matters of their concern, without having to travel to Lismore.

Seniors Week Grants

I was pleased to be advised that the following organisations have received assistance to organise events in Senior Week 2003, which will be celebrated from 16 to 21 March.

Voting - March 22 Election

With the NSW State election fast approaching I urge all residents to ensure they are enrolled correctly to make sure they have their say. The electoral roll will close at 6.00pm on the day the writs are issued, which is expected to be March 3. This is also the day when postal vote applications begin to be processed. Application forms are available and anyone wanting further information on pre-polling, absentee voting, enrolment and polling places can contact my office for details.

Seniors Week Premier's Concert

I have received the Lismore Electorate's allocation of tickets for the 2003 Seniors Week Premier's Concert in Sydney on Tuesday 18 March at 11.00am or 3.00pm. Anyone who is available to attend and would like a ticket, please contact my office.
